Make an AI image read as a specific kind of photo, such as a fashion editorial, a street photo, a mirror selfie or a movie poster. Pick one of 46 genres.
The Photo Genre picker sets the kind of photograph an image should look like. You choose a genre from its catalog, such as Fashion Editorial, Street Photography, Corporate Headshot, Mirror Selfie or Movie Poster. Nodaro adds tested wording for that genre to the prompt of every node you connect it to. Each genre carries the framing and lighting habits of that kind of photo. The picker never calls a model, so it costs no credits.
When to use it
- Give a portrait the conventions of its use: a Corporate Headshot, a Yearbook photo or an ID / Passport photo.
- Make content for a campaign or a shop: Lookbook, Campaign / Ad, E-commerce Flat Lay or Product Shot.
- Make an image feel candid: Street Photography, Paparazzi, Snapshot or Point-and-Shoot / Disposable.
- Match a social format: Mirror Selfie, Front Cam Selfie, BeReal Dual or Lo-Fi 2010s Selfie.
How to use it
Add the picker
Open the node picker and choose Creative Controls › Light & Look › Photo Genre.
Choose a genre
Click the node and choose a genre from the list. The genres are grouped into Editorial / Fashion, Documentary / Candid, Studio / Formal, Selfie, Print / Context, Lifestyle and Commercial.
Connect it
Drag from the picker's output to the Look input of a Generate Image or Generate Video node. You can also connect it to a Text or Prompt node to use the wording in a longer text.
Run the image node
The genre's wording is added to the end of the prompt when the connected node runs.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |

| Photo Genre | The genre to add. The default is Fashion Editorial. |
| Custom text (before) | Your own words, added before the genre's wording, for example mid-action. |
| Custom text (after) | Your own words, added after the genre's wording, for example behind-the-scenes feel. |
| Prompt hint | Full (default) adds a longer description of the genre. Compact adds only the short term. See Full or Compact. |
To see the exact words the picker will add, switch the node to the Prompt or Both display mode. The settings panel shows the same text under Will inject into prompt.

Filter by group or search by name. The words under each name are the term the picker adds in Compact mode.

Tips
- Add the camera. Pair a genre with Lens or Camera / Film Stock for a period-true look, for example Snapshot with the Disposable Camera format.
- Frame it to match. A genre sets its usual framing. For exact control, add Framing.
- Keep a campaign consistent. Connect one Photo Genre picker, such as Lookbook, to every image node of a product line.
- Borrow a signature. Add Photographer / Artist Style to give the genre a known photographer's look.
