Core concepts

Assets and media

Where your uploads and results live in Nodaro, which files you can upload, what the Gallery shows, and how assets such as characters differ from media files.

Media are the image, video and audio files you upload or generate in Nodaro. Assets are reusable characters, locations, objects and creatures: each one has a name, a description and approved pictures that you connect to many nodes. Every file you upload or generate is listed on your My Files page, and public results also appear in the community Gallery.

Where your files live

My Files

Open My Files in the Activity section of the sidebar. The page lists every image, video and audio file stored in your account: the files you uploaded and the results your runs produced.

  • Filter the list by type: all, image, video or audio.
  • Preview a file by clicking it.
  • Delete files you no longer need. Select several with their check boxes and click Delete Selected.
  • Watch your storage. The Storage meter shows how much of your plan's storage you use and how much is left. The page warns you when storage runs low.

Storage limits depend on your plan. When your storage is full, the app asks you to free space on My Files or to upgrade.

Results on the canvas

Each node shows its latest result and keeps its earlier results in its result history, so you can go back to an older take. Clear results on the canvas tool bar removes the results from the canvas only. It never deletes files: they stay on My Files, and past runs stay in the Executions list.

Open Gallery in the Activity section of the sidebar to see the Community Gallery, where people share what they create with Nodaro.

  • Click the heart on an item to add it to your favorites. You need to be signed in.
  • Use Copy Prompt to reuse the prompt behind a result.
  • Use Report to flag an item as inappropriate content, a copyright violation or spam.
  • Show only your own items with My items. Remove from gallery hides one of your items from the public gallery. The original run and its files are not deleted.

Which results are public. On the free tier and on pay-as-you-go, your results appear in the public Gallery. Private mode is a subscription feature, from the Standard plan up. Results made through the MCP server are always private.

Upload your own files

Add a file to a workflow with one of the three upload nodes. Each node takes a file from your computer or a direct URL, and passes the file to every node you connect it to.

NodeFormatsLargest fileAdjust step before upload
Upload ImagePNG, JPEG, WebP25 MBCrop with an aspect-ratio preset or freeform, and convert to PNG, JPEG or WebP
Upload VideoMP4, MOV, WebM500 MBCrop, trim with a filmstrip, and convert to MP4 or WebM
Upload AudioMP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, OGG50 MBTrim with a waveform, and convert to MP3, WAV, M4A or AAC

The adjust step runs in your browser, so the file you upload is already cropped or trimmed. A video that your browser cannot play is converted automatically first. For a video from YouTube or another social platform, use the Video URL node instead of Upload Video, because it handles the platform download.

How long files are kept

  • Storage counts against your plan. Uploads and results use your plan's storage. Deleting files on My Files frees space.
  • Retention follows activity on pay-as-you-go. Your files are kept while your account is active. After about 3 months with no purchase and no credit spend, files older than 60 days may be removed. Spending credits again stops future cleanup.
  • Keep a named copy. The Save to Storage node saves a result to your account with a file name, a format and a quality. Put it at the end of a workflow that runs on its own, so the result is kept even when nobody has the editor open.

Assets: characters, locations, objects and creatures

An asset keeps one subject the same across many generations. You create it once, approve its pictures, and then connect it wherever the subject appears.

AssetNodeWhat it holds
CharacterCharacter AssetA person: portrait, expressions, poses, motion clips, voice and personality
LocationLocation AssetA place, with variations such as time of day and weather
ObjectObject/Props AssetA product or a prop
Animal or creatureAnimal/Creature AssetA pet, an animal or a fantasy creature

Assets belong to your library, not to a run. Clear results never removes them, and a workflow export With Assets carries characters, objects and locations to another account. See Import and export.

Use a file and an asset in the same node

Connect media files to the References input and assets to the Assets input of Generate Image or Generate Video. The node numbers all of them in one sequence: the images on References first, then the assets in the order you connected them. That numbering is what the prompt and the model use, so what you see in the final-prompt preview is what runs.

An uploaded photo goes to References and a character goes to Assets; the prompt mentions the character by name.

To tell the model what to take from each one, such as the face, the outfit or the background, read Reference roles.
