UGC Creator

Choose who talks to camera in a UGC video, an AI creator drawn for your product or your own photo, and keep the creator you like for every later run.

Available on Nodaro Cloud

The UGC Creator node decides who talks to camera in a UGC video: an AI creator drawn for your product, or your own photo. The creator goes on to UGC Clips, and every clip of the video shows this person.

UGC Creator is one of the six UGC video nodes. Together with UGC Script, UGC Clips, UGC Clip, UGC Finish and UGC Cards, it makes a video of a creator who talks about your product while your screenshots pop up as cards, with captions.

UGC Creator runs on Nodaro Cloud only. On any other install, every UGC node fails before anything is reserved, with "UGC videos are a Nodaro Cloud feature and are not served on this deployment."

Creators are adults only. A Person picker wired into Creator look that sets an age under 20 is refused with "That age can't be used: UGC creators are adults only." So is a type that implies a minor when no adult age is set. A photo must show exactly one adult with the face clearly visible.

When to use it

  • You make a UGC video and want an AI creator who fits your product.
  • You want to present the video yourself, from one photo.
  • You found a creator you like and want the same person in every later video.

Quick start

Add the node

Press Tab on the canvas and choose Video › UGC Video › UGC Creator.

Choose the creator

Open the settings panel. Keep AI creator, or choose My photo and wire an Upload Image into Your photo. Choose Woman or Man under Gender.

Connect the category and the look

Wire the Category output of UGC Script into Product category. To steer an AI creator, wire Person, Styling, Setting or Lighting pickers into Creator look.

Run and pick a creator

Click Run. The options appear on the node, side by side. Press Use this one on the creator you want. Then press Run from here on UGC Creator to make the video.

UGC Script writes the script, UGC Creator chooses the person, UGC Clips splits the script, UGC Clip renders each clip, Combine Videos joins them, and UGC Cards times the cards for Video Overlay and the captions for Add Captions.

Inputs

InputRequiredWhat to connect
Your photoOnly for My photoAn image of you, for example from Upload Image. A wired photo wins over a photo set in the settings.
Product categoryNoThe Category output of UGC Script. A category chosen on the node wins.
Creator lookNoPerson, Styling, Setting and Lighting pickers. Several pickers can share this input. Only the fields you set on them are used, and the node lists the pickers wired in.

Outputs

OutputWhat it carries
CreatorThe creator, as JSON, for the Creator input of UGC Clips.
ImageThe creator's image, for any image input.

Nothing leaves the node while its options wait for your pick.

Settings

SettingWhat it does
CreatorAI creator, the default, or My photo.
GenderWoman, the default, or Man. An AI creator is drawn as that gender, and each image is checked for it.
Product categoryAI creator only. From the script, the default, uses the category that UGC Script chose. You can also choose a category from the list, such as Skincare, Tech or Food.
SeedAI creator only, optional. Fixes the random choice of the creator's look.
Keep this creatorOff by default. When it is on, the next run hands on the last creator without drawing again, at no cost.
Your photoMy photo only. The photo used when nothing is wired into Your photo. A published app's creator card sets it. The settings show it, with Remove image.

In the editor, give My photo its photo through the Your photo input. Without a photo, the node fails with "Connect or upload a photo of yourself." Only upload a photo of yourself, or of someone who agreed to this.

How an AI creator is drawn

An AI creator is drawn for the product category, the gender you choose, and the fields that the Creator look pickers set. Each new draw is a different person. The new creator differs from the last one you saw in at least two of age, hair colour, hairstyle and build, unless your pickers fix them.

  • In the editor, the node draws a few options and the run stops at UGC Creator until you pick one.
  • In a published app or an API run, the node draws one creator and the run goes on.
  • In a sub-workflow, or once per item of a list, the node also draws one creator and the run goes on.

When only one option comes out, the node uses that option without asking.

Pick a creator

The options wait on the node, side by side, labelled Option 1, Option 2 and so on.

  • Use this one keeps the option and turns on Keep this creator. Then press Run from here on UGC Creator to make the video.
  • Show new options draws again. The new options differ from the ones you saw. Over a kept creator, Show new options turns Keep this creator off and runs the node.

While options wait, a run that includes UGC Creator is refused with "Pick a creator first." If one option cannot be made, the others are still shown, with a note.

Credits

UGC Creator has no price of its own. What a run charges:

  • Each image it draws is a normal image job, billed at that image model's price.
  • Each image is checked with one image reading, to confirm that the person matches the gender you chose.
  • In the editor, every option is drawn and checked. In a published app or an API run, one creator is drawn and checked.
  • A photo is checked with one image reading. A photo that fails is refused with "This photo can't be used: it must show exactly one adult with the face clearly visible."
  • A kept creator is handed on at no cost.

If moderation blocks every image of a draw, one more image is drawn in their place, at its own price, and checked the same way.

If no option passes the check, the creator is drawn once more, at the same price again. If that draw fails too, the run stops before any clip renders. The message is "The AI creator did not come out as the person you chose. Run UGC Creator again." The script that UGC Script already wrote is still charged.

If your credits run out during a draw, the node stops. In the editor, the buy-credits dialog opens, and the options already checked stay on the node for you to pick.

Before a run, the editor shows the price of the creator together with the rest of the video. See Prices in the editor.

Tips

  • Steer the look with pickers. Use Person for age, hair and build, Styling for makeup, hair and outfit, Setting for where the creator films, and Lighting for the light.
  • Leave Creator look empty for a creator drawn only for the product category.
  • Keep a creator you like. Press Use this one, and every later run uses the same person at no cost.
  • Your photo stays private. A published app or template never carries your photo. An app set to My photo asks each runner for a photo of their own.

Troubleshooting

"Pick a creator first."Options wait on the node. Press Use this one on one of them, or Show new options.
"Connect or upload a photo of yourself."My photo is set, but no photo is wired into Your photo. Wire an Upload Image.
"This photo can't be used: it must show exactly one adult with the face clearly visible."Use a photo of one adult, facing the camera, with the face clearly visible.
"Run UGC Script first, or pick a product category."An AI creator needs a product category. Wire the Category output of UGC Script, or choose a category on the node.
"That age can't be used: UGC creators are adults only."A Person picker sets an age under 20, or a type that implies a minor. Set an adult age.
"The AI creator did not come out as the person you chose. Run UGC Creator again."No drawn image matched the gender you chose, twice. Run UGC Creator again.
"UGC videos are a Nodaro Cloud feature and are not served on this deployment."The UGC nodes run on Nodaro Cloud only. Use the workflow on app.nodaro.ai.

From the API

UGC Creator calls POST /v1/ugc/creator when it runs. The request and answer shapes of the UGC routes belong to the nodes and may change between versions. To make a UGC video from code, run a workflow or a published app that holds the UGC nodes. An API run draws one creator and never waits for a pick.

A run request can set only three fields of UGC Creator: source (sampled for an AI creator, photo for My photo), gender (woman or man) and photoUrl. Any other field on a UGC node answers 400 locked_field. See Workflows and MiniApps.

AI assistants connected through MCP use separate UGC tools, such as build_ugc_creator. The ugc-website recipe, loaded with get_recipe, explains them. See Content recipes.

Frequently asked questions

What does the UGC Creator node do?

UGC Creator decides who talks to camera in a UGC video. It draws an AI creator for your product, or it uses your own photo. Every clip of the video shows that person.

Why does my run stop at UGC Creator?

In the editor, an AI creator is drawn as a few options side by side, and the run waits for your pick. Press Use this one on an option, then Run from here on UGC Creator to make the video.

Can I use my own face in a UGC video?

Yes. Set Creator to My photo and wire an Upload Image into the Your photo input. The photo must show exactly one adult with the face clearly visible.

How many credits does UGC Creator cost?

The node has no price of its own. Each image it draws is billed at its image model's price, and each image gets one image reading to check it. A kept creator costs nothing.

Can a UGC creator be a child?

No. UGC creators are adults only. A Person picker that sets an age under 20, or a type that implies a minor, is refused.
