Manual Edit
Open clips, images and audio in the NodarCut video editor, cut and arrange them by hand, and pass the edited video on, or pause a workflow until you finish.
The Manual Edit node opens connected media in the NodarCut Editor, a video editor that runs in your browser. You make the adjustments that an automated node cannot make, such as precise cuts, trims and overlays, and the edited video becomes the node's output. In Wait for Edit mode, the node also pauses the workflow until you finish editing.
When to use it
- Fine-tune a generated video before the final delivery.
- Make precise cuts that automated trimming cannot handle.
- Add annotations or small adjustments by hand.
- Review and approve content before it is published to social media.
Quick start
Add the node
Press Tab on the canvas and choose Video › Cut & Assemble › Manual Edit.
Connect the media
Wire clips, images and audio into the Assets input.
Choose the run mode
Open the settings panel and choose a Run Mode: Bypass (pass through), the default, or Wait for Edit.
Edit the video
Click Open Editor on the node. Cut and arrange the media in the NodarCut Editor, then click Save & Close.
Use the result
The edited video appears on the node, marked Edited, and flows to the connected nodes. Click Re-edit to open the editor again.
Inputs
| Input | Accepts | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Assets | Video, image and audio nodes | The media to edit. The node shows how many assets are connected. |
The output, Video, is the edited video.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Run Mode | Bypass (pass through), the default, passes the input through during a workflow run. You can open the editor manually at any time. Wait for Edit pauses the workflow until you finish editing in the NodarCut Editor. |
| Editor Load | First asset to timeline, the default, puts the first video on the timeline and the other assets in the editor's asset library. All assets to timeline puts every asset on the timeline when the editor opens. |
Pause a workflow for a person
In Wait for Edit mode, a workflow run stops at this node. The node shows Awaiting Edit, and the settings panel shows Waiting for your edit.
- Click Open Editor on the node.
- Make your edits in the NodarCut Editor.
- Click Save & Close. The workflow continues with the edited video.
A workflow with a node in Wait for Edit mode cannot run fully on its own. For workflows that start from a Schedule Trigger or a Webhook Trigger, use Bypass (pass through) instead.
The NodarCut Editor
- Your project is kept. When you reopen the editor on a result, it restores your project: the tracks, the cuts and the effects. Each result keeps its own project.
- Start again when you need to. New Project discards the current edits and starts fresh with the original video. The editor asks you to confirm with Start Fresh.
- Add more media. Import Assets adds media From Workflow or From Library.
- Save to finish. Save & Close sends the edited video back to the node. Closing the editor without saving asks whether to discard your changes.
The same editor opens from the result of most video nodes, such as Generate Video and Video to Video. Click Edit in NodarCut on the result, and the edited video is saved as a new result of that node.

Manual Edit costs no credits.
Tips
- Use it where judgment matters. Place Manual Edit only at the points where a person really needs to review or adjust the video.
- Edit promptly. In Wait for Edit mode, the workflow waits until you save your edit.
- Keep a stable connection. The editor runs in your browser and sends the edited video back when you save.
