Motion Graphics
Describe a lower third, title card or kinetic typography and an AI model animates it in 2D, as editable Lottie with free color and text edits, up to 60 seconds.
The Motion Graphics node creates 2D animated graphics from a description: lower thirds, title cards, kinetic typography, animated shapes and line animations. An AI model designs the graphic and the settings panel previews it. Connect the result to Render Video for a video file, or place it over your footage with Lottie Overlay.
When to use it
- You need an animated lower third with a name and a role for an interview or a presentation.
- You need a title card, an intro, an outro or a call-to-action end card.
- You want kinetic typography from a quote or from lyrics.
- You want shape and line animations for an explainer video.
- You want a transparent graphic, such as a subscribe reminder or a sale badge, to lay over other video.
Quick start
Add the node
Press Tab on the canvas and choose Video › Titles, Graphics & Captions › Motion Graphics.
Describe the graphic or choose a preset
In the settings panel, write the graphic under Motion Graphics Prompt. Put the exact words in quotes, for example modern lower third, "John Smith - CEO", pink accent, white text, snappy. You can also choose a factory preset, such as Lower Third or Title Card.
Check the frame
Under Settings, check Duration (s), Aspect Ratio and Background Color. Keep the transparent background for an overlay, or choose a solid color for a standalone card.
Run it
Click Run. The preview in the settings panel plays the graphic. On the Lottie engine, the Slots section then lists what you can edit for free.
Use the result
Connect Composition to Render Video for a video file. To place the graphic over a video, connect Lottie JSON to the Lottie input of Lottie Overlay.
Inputs
| Input | Accepts | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Video | Video nodes | Optional context. The node creates the graphic from the prompt and does not need an input to run. |
Outputs
| Output | What it carries | Connect it to |
|---|---|---|
| Composition | The motion graphics plan | Render Video, to get a video file |
| Lottie JSON | The authored Lottie animation. Lottie engine only. | The Lottie input of Lottie Overlay, to place it over a video |
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Engine | Lottie (AI-authored) or Classic (elements). New nodes start on Lottie. See Which engine to choose. |
| AI Model | The language model that designs the graphic. The default is Claude Sonnet 4.6. The model's tier (Economy, Standard or Premium) sets the price. |
| Reasoning Effort | Shown for models that can reason. Auto (model default) keeps the price. Very high and Max may bill one tier up. |
| Advanced mode | Gemini models only. Unlocks Temperature, Max Tokens and the full reasoning range, and costs one credit tier more. |
| Motion Graphics Prompt | The description of the graphic. The info button next to the field opens a short prompt guide. |
| FPS | 24, 30 or 60 frames per second. The default is 30. Under Settings. |
| Duration (s) | From 1 to 60 seconds. The default is 5. Under Settings. |
| Aspect Ratio | 16:9 (the default), 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5. Under Settings. |
| Background Color | An 8-digit hex color with transparency. The default, #00000000, is fully transparent. Under Settings. |
| Pre & post text | Text added before and after the prompt at run time. It is hidden from people who use your workflow as an app. See Prompt pre and post text. |
Which engine to choose
| Lottie (AI-authored) | Classic (elements) | |
|---|---|---|
| What the model writes | A complete Lottie animation with named, editable slots | A compact list of texts, shapes, lines and transitions |
| Motion | Richer, hand-animation style | Simpler and fast |
| Run | A background job; the preview updates when the plan is ready | Returns at once |
| Free edits after the run | Yes, in Slots | No |
| Lottie JSON output | Yes | No |
| Credits | More on Standard and Premium models, because the model writes a much larger animation | Less on Standard and Premium models |
The engine does not change the downstream steps: both engines return a composition for Render Video.
Rules for Lottie animations
- Vector only. The animation cannot contain images. Shapes, paths, gradients and text all work. A plan that uses images is rejected and generated again.
- Expressions are removed. Nodaro strips Lottie expressions from every plan for security.
- Twenty fonts. Text uses a list of 20 web fonts. A font outside the list is replaced with Inter.
- Size limits. A plan can have up to 50 layers and 128 KB. A larger plan is rejected.
On the Classic engine, the fonts come from a curated set. Describe the style you want in the prompt, such as "modern sans-serif" or "elegant serif".
Edit slots for free
A Lottie graphic has named slots, such as a main color, a name or a headline. After a run, the Slots section below the preview lists them:
- Colors show a color picker.
- Texts show a text field.
- Numbers and points show number fields.
Each slot shows a reset control after you change it. Slot edits change the existing animation in place: they cost no credits, do not regenerate the graphic, and the preview updates as you type. When you run the node again, the model keeps the same slot names, so your edits survive the new version.
Slots in published apps. When you add the node as an input in the publish dialog, each slot becomes an editable field in the published app and in presentation mode. The people who use your app can change these colors, texts and numbers on every run, for free. See Apps.
Factory presets
Motion Graphics ships 22 factory presets in six folders. They all use the Lottie engine.
| Folder | Presets |
|---|---|
| Titles & Text | Lower Third, Title Card, Kinetic Typography, Quote Card, End Card (CTA) |
| Intros & Logos | Logo Sting, Channel Intro, Countdown |
| Social & CTA | Subscribe Reminder, Like + Follow Bug, Sale Badge, Story Highlight |
| UI & Icons | Loader / Spinner, Success Check, Error Cross, Progress Bar, Notification Pop |
| FX Overlays | Confetti Burst, Sparkle Shimmer, Speed Lines |
| Backgrounds | Gradient Blob Loop, Geometric Pattern Loop |
Each preset is a full art-direction brief. It sets the prompt, the engine, the aspect ratio, the duration and the background, and it names the slots it exposes. Overlay presets use a transparent background. Standalone presets, such as title cards, the intro, the countdown and the backgrounds, use an opaque dark background. Text slots hold placeholder copy, such as "Jane Doe" or "SUBSCRIBE", for you to retype.
Choosing a preset replaces the prompt and those settings, and clears any animation the node made before. See Presets.
Credits
Motion Graphics costs credits in two steps:
- Designing the graphic. The price follows the tier of the AI Model: Economy, Standard or Premium. On Standard and Premium models, the Lottie engine costs more than Classic, because the model writes a much larger animation. The node's cost badge on the canvas shows the price for the engine and model you chose.
- Rendering it. Render Video costs 50 credits per render on Nodaro Cloud.
Slot edits are free.
Tips
- Put exact words in quotes.
"John Smith - CEO"gives you that text instead of copy the model invents. - Name the style, the colors and the feel. For example: modern, minimal, neon, corporate or elegant; "pink accent, white text"; snappy, smooth or cinematic.
- Use the right length. 3 to 5 seconds suits a lower third, and 5 to 10 seconds a title card. Kinetic typography can run longer.
- Keep overlays transparent. Leave Background Color at
#00000000for anything that goes over other video. - Chain nodes for long sequences. The maximum is 60 seconds per node.
- From the API. The API's default engine is Classic. Set the engine to Lottie in the request for the Lottie engine.
