UGC Script

Write the opening line, beats and closing line of a UGC video from your product name or website and up to 8 screenshots, checked against the video rules.

Available on Nodaro Cloud

The UGC Script node writes what the creator says in a UGC video: the opening line, the beats and the closing line. It reads up to 8 screenshots and the product name or website you give it. It checks the script against the video rules and rewrites the script when it breaks one.

UGC Script also chooses the product category that UGC Creator draws the creator for. The usual next node is UGC Clips, which splits the script into clips.

UGC Script runs on Nodaro Cloud only. On any other install, every UGC node fails before anything is reserved, with "UGC videos are a Nodaro Cloud feature and are not served on this deployment."

When to use it

  • You want a short video of a creator who talks about your product or your website.
  • You have screenshots of your site or app, and you want each one to appear as a card while the creator mentions it.
  • You want a script that already fits the length of the video.

For a multi-scene script with image prompts, dialogue and music moods, use Generate Script instead.

Quick start

Add the node

Press Tab on the canvas and choose Video › UGC Video › UGC Script.

Give it the product

Wire a Text node into Product name or website. Type the product's name, or paste its website.

Add the screenshots

Wire 3 to 8 Upload Image nodes into Screenshot 1 to Screenshot 8, in the order the creator should talk about them. Optionally, wire a product photo into Product photo.

Set the length and run

Open the settings panel and set Video length (seconds). Click Run. The script's lines appear on the node.

UGC Script writes the script from the product name and the screenshots. Its category goes to UGC Creator, and its script goes to UGC Clips.

Inputs

InputRequiredWhat to connect
Product name or websiteYesText. A name of up to 80 characters is used as the brand exactly as typed. A longer description, up to 300 characters, is read as context, and the script names the brand from it. Without this input, the node fails with "Add the product name or website."
Screenshot 1 to Screenshot 8NoImages, in card order. Empty inputs are skipped.
Product photoNoAn image of the product. With a product photo, the closing line can have the creator hold the product.

How many screenshots

  • 3 to 8 screenshots: one beat each, in the order of the inputs, with Screenshot 1 first. Each screenshot pops up as a card while the creator talks about it. UGC Cards times the cards.
  • 1 or 2 screenshots are dropped. The video is the creator talking, with no cards, and the Notes of UGC Cards say so.
  • No screenshots: the same video of the creator talking.

UGC Script reads the screenshots as images. It never visits the website.

Outputs

OutputWhat it carries
ScriptThe script, as JSON, for the Script input of UGC Clips.
CategoryThe product category, as plain text, for the Product category input of UGC Creator, or any text input.

Settings

SettingWhat it does
Video length (seconds)How long the video should be, from 4 to 300 seconds. The default is 15. The script is written to this length.
LanguageThe language the script is written and spoken in: English (the default) or Hebrew. A Hebrew video needs UGC Finish before its clips are joined.
Keep this scriptOff by default. When it is on, the next run hands on the last script without writing again, at no cost. While the script is kept, the length stays the kept script's own. To change the length, turn Keep this script off.

The settings also say in how many rounds the script was written, for example "Written in 2 rounds".

How the script is checked

UGC Script checks the script against the video rules. When the script breaks a rule, the node rewrites it from what the check found. It tries three times in all: the first write and up to two rewrites.

Edit the lines

After a run, the settings show the script's lines: Opening line, each beat (Beat 1, Beat 2 and so on) and Closing line.

  1. Press Edit and change the words of the lines.
  2. Press Save to write them into the script. Saving turns on Keep this script, so the next run uses your lines.
  3. Press Cancel to leave the script as it was.

Only the words of the lines can be edited. A blank line is refused, for example with "Beat 2's line is empty." A line over the script's character limit is refused too, for example with "Beat 2's line is too long. Keep it to … characters or fewer."

UGC Clips checks an edited script again before any clip is paid for. A script that breaks a rule fails UGC Clips with "The script needs changes:", followed by each problem and its fix.

In a published app

The length can be an app input, Video length (seconds). It is a slider from 4 to 300 seconds, or a choice of the lengths the app allows. Published as an app, the UGC Video From Your Site tutorial offers 15, 20 and 25 seconds.

Credits

UGC Script charges one fixed price per run, however many rewrites it takes. The editor shows the price on the Run button before the run starts.

  • A run that cannot meet the rules after three tries is refunded. It fails with "The script could not meet the video rules after three tries:", followed by what was still wrong.
  • A run that fails for any other reason is refunded too.
  • A kept script is handed on at no cost. The clips after it are priced at the kept script's own length and screenshot cards.

See Prices in the editor for the price of the whole video.

Tips

  • Upload the screenshots in speaking order. The card order is the order of the Screenshot inputs.
  • Keep a script you like. Turn on Keep this script, or edit the lines and save them. The next run of the whole workflow then hands the script on instead of paying for a new one.
  • Use 3 to 8 screenshots for cards. With fewer, the video has no cards.
  • Publishing ships the script empty. A template published with Include this run's results shows the spoken lines as an example, until the person who copies it writes a first script.

Troubleshooting

Message or problemCause and fix
"Add the product name or website."Nothing is wired into Product name or website. Wire a Text node with the name or the website.
"The script could not meet the video rules after three tries:"The script still broke a rule after two rewrites. The run is refunded. Change the length, the product text or the screenshots, and run again.
"Beat 2's line is empty."A line you edited is blank. Write the line, or press Cancel.
"Beat 2's line is too long. Keep it to … characters or fewer."A line you edited is over the limit. Shorten it.
The length setting cannot be changed.Keep this script is on. Turn it off to change the length.
The video has no cards.Fewer than 3 screenshots are connected. Add 3 to 8 screenshots.

From the API

UGC Script calls POST /v1/ugc/script when it runs, and the route answers with a job id. The request and answer shapes of the UGC routes belong to the nodes and may change between versions. To make a UGC video from code, run a workflow or a published app that holds the UGC nodes.

A run request can set UGC Script's targetDurationSec, from 4 to 300. On a UGC node, a run can also set only UGC Creator's source, gender and photoUrl. Any other field on a UGC node answers 400 locked_field. See Workflows and MiniApps.

AI assistants connected through MCP use separate UGC tools, such as build_ugc_clips. The ugc-website recipe, loaded with get_recipe, explains them. See Content recipes.

Frequently asked questions

What does the UGC Script node do?

UGC Script writes what the creator says in a UGC video, the opening line, the beats and the closing line. It reads your product name or website and up to 8 screenshots, and checks the script against the video rules.

Does UGC Script visit my website?

No. UGC Script reads the screenshots as images and never visits the website. Type the product's name, or paste its website as context.

How many screenshots should I upload?

Upload 3 to 8 screenshots. Each one gets a beat and pops up as a card while the creator talks about it. With 1 or 2 screenshots, or none, the video is the creator talking, with no cards.

How many credits does UGC Script cost?

UGC Script charges one fixed price per run, however many rewrites it takes. A run that fails is refunded, and a kept script costs nothing. The editor shows the price before the run starts.

Can I edit the script?

Yes. After a run, press Edit in the settings panel, change the words of the lines, and press Save. Saving turns on Keep this script, so the next run uses your lines.
