Change a video's aspect ratio to 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5 by cropping, padding or stretching, for example to turn a landscape clip into a vertical Reel.
The Resize Video node changes a video to a new aspect ratio: 16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5. It fits the picture into the new frame by cropping the edges, adding bars, or stretching the image, so you can reuse one clip on platforms with different frame shapes.
When to use it
- You have a landscape (16:9) video and need a vertical (9:16) version for TikTok, Reels or Shorts.
- You need a square (1:1) or 4:5 version for a feed post.
- You want several clips in the same shape before you join them with Combine Videos.
Quick start
Add the node
Press Tab on the canvas and choose Video › Format & Export › Resize Video.
Connect a video
Drag from the output of any video node, such as Upload Video or Generate Video, to the Video input.
Choose the frame and the method
Open the settings panel. Choose a Target Aspect Ratio, then a Method: Crop, Pad or Stretch.
Run it
Click Run on the node. The resized video appears on the node.

| Pad Color | The color of the bars that Pad adds. The default is black (#000000). The other methods ignore it. |
Which method to choose
| Method | What happens | Use it when |

| Crop | Cuts the edges off to fill the new frame. The crop keeps the center of the picture. | Most of the time. A cropped video looks more natural than one with bars. |
| Pad | Keeps the whole picture and adds bars in the Pad Color. | You cannot lose anything near the edges, such as text or a logo. |
| Stretch | Distorts the picture to fill the frame. | Only when you want the distortion. |
Credits
Resize Video costs 20 credits per run. The node does not use an AI model, so the length of the video does not change the price.
Tips
- Check what sits off center. Crop keeps the middle of the frame. If the subject is near an edge, use Pad, or edit the clip by hand in Manual Edit.
- Resize before you join clips. Give every clip the same aspect ratio before Combine Videos.
