Make a cover version of a song with Suno. Change the genre, the lyrics or the vocal gender, sing it in your own voice, or turn it into an instrumental.
The Suno Cover node makes a new version of an existing song in a different style. You describe how the cover should differ, for example acoustic folk version or 80s synthwave remix, and Suno performs the song again with those changes. You can also give it new lyrics, another vocal gender, your own voice, or no vocals at all.
When to use it
- You want to hear a track in a completely different genre.
- You need an instrumental or karaoke version of a song.
- You want the same song with another vocal gender.
- You want style variations of a song made with Suno Create Music.
Quick start
Add the node
Press Tab on the canvas, or open the node picker in the sidebar, and choose Audio › Music › Suno Cover.
Connect the song
Connect an audio node, such as Upload Audio or Suno Create Music, to the Audio input. You can also paste the address of an audio file in Source Audio URL.
Describe the cover
Write how the cover should differ in Prompt, for example Acoustic folk version with fingerpicked guitar and a warm male vocal. The prompt is required.
Run it
Click Run. The cover appears on the node.

Settings

| Title (optional) | The title of the cover, up to 80 characters. |
| Lyrics (optional) | New words for the cover, with metatags such as [Verse] and [Chorus]. It has the same length limit as Prompt in custom mode. |
| Style (optional) | Genre and style tags for the cover. Up to 1,000 characters (200 on Suno V4). |
| Negative Style (optional) | Styles to avoid in the cover, up to 500 characters. |
| Vocal Gender (optional) | Auto (the default), Male or Female. |
| Instrumental (no vocals) | Makes an instrumental cover without vocals. It is off by default. |
| Pre & post text | Text that is always added before and after the prompt. It is hidden from people who use your workflow as an app. See Prompt pre and post text. |
As in Suno Create Music, the cover works in custom mode as soon as Style, Title or Lyrics has content. Custom mode gives you finer control over how Suno reads the style. See Simple mode and custom mode.

Suno Cover runs the same Suno versions as Suno Create Music, at the same price.

Tips
- Name the target style. A clear prompt, such as
acoustic folk versionor80s synthwave remix, gives the most convincing covers. - Use Negative Style. It is especially useful for covers, because it keeps unwanted elements of the original out.
- Change the words, not only the sound. Write new lyrics in Lyrics when the cover should say something different.
- Separate first. Isolate the vocals or the instrumental with Suno Separate before you cover them.
- Refine in steps. Feed a song from Suno Create Music into Suno Cover, and adjust the prompt until the cover sounds right.
