Duration
The Duration node holds a target length in seconds. It cannot be wired into video or script nodes, so set the length on each node.
The Duration node holds a target length in seconds, from 1 to 600, with 60 as the default. It never runs a model and costs nothing.
It does not change a run
The canvas refuses a wire from Duration to Generate Video or Generate Script, so the length it holds never reaches a run. Set the length on each node instead.
Settings
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Duration (seconds) | A length from 1 to 600 seconds. The default is 60. |
Where to set a length
| Result | Setting |
|---|---|
| One generated clip | Duration (seconds) in Generate Video. The choices depend on the model. |
| A whole scripted video | Target Length (seconds) in Generate Script, from 10 to 600 seconds. |
Which length to choose
| Result | Suggested length |
|---|---|
| A social reel | 15 seconds |
| A short-form video | 30 to 60 seconds |
| An explainer video | 60 to 180 seconds |
| A single generated clip | 4 to 15 seconds, depending on the model |
Tips
- Plan scenes with the length. A 60-second script with 10 scenes gives about 6 seconds per scene, which suits most video models.
- Check the model's lengths. Every video model page lists the lengths the model can make.
