Why are my uploads private?

Privacy is set to Private by default, so nothing goes public by accident. Watch the upload on YouTube first, then change the Privacy setting to Unlisted or Public for the next runs, or change the video's visibility on YouTube.

How do I upload a YouTube Short?

Set the action to Upload Short and connect a vertical 9:16 video. YouTube accepts Shorts of up to 3 minutes, and places vertical videos under 60 seconds best in the Shorts feed.

How long can the title and the description be?

The title can have up to 100 characters and the description up to 5,000 characters.

Why does the node keep running after the upload starts?

YouTube processes uploads in the background. The node waits until the upload is complete before it marks the run as done.

Upload a video or a Short to your YouTube channel from a workflow, with a title, a description, tags and a privacy setting that starts as Private.

The YouTube Upload node uploads a video from your workflow to your connected YouTube channel, as a regular video or as a Short. You set the title, the description, the tags and the privacy in the node, so a finished video can go from the canvas to YouTube in one run.

When to use it

Upload a finished long-form video, for example the output of Combine Videos.
Publish vertical AI clips as YouTube Shorts.
Upload on a schedule, with a Schedule Trigger at the start of the workflow.

Quick start

Connect YouTube

Open the Integrations page and connect your YouTube account.

Add the node

Press Tab on the canvas and choose Publish › Platforms › YouTube Upload.

Connect the video and fill in the details

Connect a video to the node's input. In the settings panel, choose the Account and the Action, then write the Title, the Description and the Tags.

Run it and review

Click Run. The video uploads as Private unless you changed Privacy. Check it on YouTube before you make it public.

Combined scenes get a music track and upload to YouTube as a private video.

Why uploads start as Private

Privacy starts at Private, so a test run never publishes a video to everyone. Review the upload on YouTube, then switch Privacy to Unlisted or Public when the workflow is ready. Posting steps that the Workflow Copilot adds also start as private.

Credits

Each upload costs 10 credits. The nodes that made the video charge for it separately.

Tips

Write the title and description with a text node. Connect a Prompt node to the input, or choose it in the source menu of the Description or Title field.
Add tags. Relevant tags help people find the video in YouTube search.
Post the Short everywhere. Connect the same vertical video to TikTok Post and Instagram Post.
