Every image node in Nodaro, from uploads and text-to-image to editing, masks, collages, overlays, reference boards and image analysis.
The Image tab of the node picker holds every node that brings in, creates, edits, combines or reads images. It covers uploads, text-to-image generation, editing by instruction, masks, upscaling, background removal, collages, overlays, reference boards and image analysis. Press Tab on the canvas and open the Image tab to see the nodes, grouped in five families.
A tab shows every node that deals with its medium, not only the nodes that produce it. That is why Describe Image, which returns text, and Extract Frame, which reads a video, are in the Image tab too.
The five families
Add Your Own
Bring your own pictures into a workflow. Upload Image takes a file or a direct link, lets you crop it before the upload, and passes it to every node you connect. Reach for it when a photo, a product shot or a logo should guide the AI or appear in the result.
Create
Make new images from text. Generate Image turns a prompt into a picture with one of Nodaro's image models. It keeps characters consistent with references and assets, and it can edit its own results with a mask. It is the starting point of most image and video workflows.
Edit & Retouch
Change, clean up and combine images you already have. Modify Image changes an image with a text instruction, on more than 20 editing models. Upscale Image and Remove Background enlarge an image or cut out its subject, with no prompt. Generate Mask and Paint Mask mark the area an edit may change. Image Collage and Image Overlay combine pictures, text and logos pixel-exactly, without AI. Extract Frame takes a still out of a video.
References
Lock the look of a subject, so that every later generation matches it. Reference Sheet composes a turnaround or a model sheet from a Character, Object or Location, with clean panels to reuse one by one. Reference Board draws a complete board, with a hero image, panels and a palette, in one AI pass. Read Reference boards to choose between them.
Understand
Read images and turn them into text, choices and scores. Describe Image writes a description, a caption or a prompt. Describe to Picker fills the Person, Styling, Framing, Lens and Camera / Film Stock pickers from a photo. Image Critic scores an image and sends its feedback out as approved or rejected.

The foot of the Image tab also has a collapsed Creative Controls block. These pickers, such as Lighting, Lens and Mood, add tested wording to image prompts. See Creative Controls.

Edit & Retouch
- Modify ImageChange an existing image with a text instruction. Restyle it, fix one detail or repaint a masked area with more than 20 image-editing models.
- Upscale ImageEnlarge and sharpen an image without a prompt. Use Recraft Upscale for quick, low-cost results or Topaz Upscale at 1x, 2x or 4x for final files.
- Remove BackgroundRemove the background from an image in one step. The node returns a transparent PNG of the subject, ready to place on a new scene or a brand graphic.
- Generate MaskDescribe a subject in plain words, such as "the red car", and get a black-and-white mask of it to repaint only that area in an editing node.
- Paint MaskPaint a mask by hand over any image, or refine a generated one, and send it to every node that takes a mask. White is edited, black is kept. Free.
- Image CollageArrange up to 30 images into one 2K or 4K picture with a smart or grid layout. Add numbers and labels to turn a batch of shots into a storyboard.
- Image OverlayPlace up to 12 layers, such as logos, text, QR codes and shapes, on an image, pixel-exactly, with a live preview. Export for many platforms in one run.
- Extract FramePull one frame out of a video as a lossless PNG, such as the first, the last, a timestamp or an exact frame number, to chain clips or make thumbnails.
