Claude Code

Add the Nodaro MCP server to Claude Code with one terminal command, sign in with OAuth through /mcp, and create images, video and films from Claude Code.

You connect Claude Code to Nodaro by adding the Nodaro MCP server, https://mcp.nodaro.ai/mcp, with one command in your terminal. After you sign in with your Nodaro account, Claude can call every Nodaro tool you allowed from a Claude Code session. Every result is also saved to your Nodaro library.

Connect Claude Code

Add Nodaro

Open a terminal in your project's folder and run:

claude mcp add --transport http nodaro https://mcp.nodaro.ai/mcp

Run the command in the terminal, not inside a Claude Code session. Claude Code adds a server named nodaro, and claude mcp list shows it as Needs authentication until you sign in.

Start Claude Code in the same folder and run /mcp. Select nodaro, press Enter and choose Authenticate. Your browser opens the Nodaro sign-in page. Sign in with your Nodaro account, review the permissions on the consent screen, and click Allow.

Start creating

Back in Claude Code, Nodaro shows as connected. Ask Claude to use Nodaro, for example: "Show me my Nodaro projects." or "Create a storyboard from this script." If Claude Code asks for permission the first time Claude calls a Nodaro tool, approve it.

By default, Claude Code adds Nodaro only to the project where you ran the command. To use Nodaro in every project, add --scope user to the command.

The Nodaro plugin for Claude Code adds the same server, together with the Nodaro SDK skill. See Agent skills.

Check or remove the server

Run these commands in your terminal:

claude mcp list
claude mcp remove nodaro

The first command lists your MCP servers with their status, so you can check that Nodaro is connected. The second command removes Nodaro from Claude Code. To also end Claude Code's access to your Nodaro account, revoke it under Settings › Connected apps, at app.nodaro.ai/settings/connected-apps.

Upload files from your project

Claude Code can run shell commands, so it can send local files to Nodaro directly. prepare_image_upload, prepare_audio_upload and prepare_video_upload return a presigned upload URL and the file's public URL. Claude Code uploads the file with curl -X PUT and passes the public URL to the next tool. See Upload tools.

Make a film in Claude Code

Ask Claude for a trailer, a short film or a music video, and it loads the Film Director skill from Nodaro. Claude then builds an editable workflow on your canvas, one approved stage at a time. The skill was tested in Claude Code. In Claude Code, you can also install the skill as a local file, which is how you use the Film Director with a self-hosted install.

If the connection fails

  • The browser does not open when you choose Authenticate. Copy the URL that Claude Code shows in the terminal and open it in your browser.
  • The sign-in fails. Check that the URL is exactly https://mcp.nodaro.ai/mcp, with no trailing slash. To fix a wrong URL, run claude mcp remove nodaro and add the server again.
  • /mcp does not list Nodaro. You added the server in another project. Run the claude mcp add command again in this project.
  • Nodaro is connected but lists no tools. Some permissions were not granted. Run /mcp, select nodaro, choose Clear authentication, and sign in again with every permission allowed.

More fixes are in Troubleshooting.
