# Pose > Pick one of 81 poses, from standing and seated postures to running, leaping and hand gestures, and Nodaro adds tested wording for the pose to your prompt. You choose one pose from its catalog, such as standing upright, cross-legged, running, mid-spin or hand on chin. Nodaro adds tested wording for that pose to the prompt of every node you connect it to. The picker never calls a model, so it costs no credits. - Found in: Creative Controls › Wardrobe & Pose - Output: text - API type: `pose` ## When to use it - Direct the pose in fashion and portrait photography. - Block an action scene: running, jumping or a fighting stance. - Explore a character design in different positions. - Show what the subject is doing, such as reading, texting or cooking. ## How to use it ### Add the picker Open the node picker and choose **Creative Controls › Wardrobe & Pose › Pose**. ### Choose a pose Select the node and choose a pose in the settings panel. Search the grid, or scroll it. Each tile shows a stick figure of the pose. ### Connect it Drag from the picker's output to the **Elements** input of a [Generate Image](https://nodaro.ai/docs/nodes/image/generate-image) or [Generate Video](https://nodaro.ai/docs/nodes/video/generate-video) node. You can also connect it to a [Text](https://nodaro.ai/docs/nodes/automate/text) or [Prompt](https://nodaro.ai/docs/nodes/automate/prompt) node to include the wording in a longer text. ### Run the image or video node The pose's wording is added to the end of the prompt when the connected node runs. Workflow: Person and Pose pickers feed the Elements input of Generate Image. - Text → Generate Image (prompt) - Person → Generate Image (elements) - Pose → Generate Image (elements) ## Settings | Setting | What it does | | --- | --- | | **Pose** | The pose to add. The settings panel shows the same text under **Will inject into prompt**. The node card shows the pose's name, a short description and its stick figure. For example, **Standing Upright** adds `standing upright in a relaxed natural posture` in **Full** mode, and `standing upright` in **Compact** mode. ## Every pose The catalog has 9 groups: Standing, Seated, Movement, Action, Resting, Hand Position, Body Lean, Head Tilt and Activity. The last four groups describe one part of the body or an activity, such as **Hand on Chin**, **Leaning Forward**, **Chin Up** or **Texting**. Search the catalog or filter it by group. Write a gesture or an action in **Custom text (after)**, for example `holding a sword overhead`. - **Set the camera side with Framing.** Pose sets the body. To show the subject from the side or from behind, use **Vantage** in the [Framing](https://nodaro.ai/docs/nodes/creative-controls/framing) picker. - **Use Character Motion for movement over time.** In a video, [Character Motion](https://nodaro.ai/docs/nodes/creative-controls/character-motion) describes what the subject does during the clip. Pose describes the position the subject holds. - **Pair it with Held Prop.** Poses such as **Reading** or **Drinking** read better with the object in hand. It describes a body position or an action, such as Standing Upright or Leaping. The description is added to the prompt of every image or video node it is connected to.
