# Loop Subject

The **Loop Subject** picker names the subject of a looping video. You choose one subject from its catalog, such as a neon tunnel, a starfield, falling snow or a kaleidoscope. Each subject is written to fill the frame and to loop well, for background loops, screen savers and ambient visuals. The picker never calls a model, so it costs no credits.

## When to use it
- Background loops for live streams, podcasts or installations.
- Screen savers and digital signage.
- Music-video footage that loops without a visible cut.

## How to use it
### Add the picker

Open the node picker and choose **Creative Controls › Scene › Loop Subject**.

### Choose a subject

Select the node and choose a subject in the settings panel. The tiles are grouped as Realistic and Abstract / VJ, and each tile shows a small icon.

### Connect it

Drag from the picker's output to the **Look** input of a [Generate Image](https://nodaro.ai/docs/nodes/image/generate-image) or [Generate Video](https://nodaro.ai/docs/nodes/video/generate-video) node. For a seamless loop, start with Generate Image, as described in [Make a seamless loop](#make-a-seamless-loop).

### Run the image or video node

The subject's wording is added to the end of the prompt when the connected node runs.

Workflow: A Loop Subject picker shapes one image, the image becomes both the first and last frame of a video, and Loop Video repeats the clip.

## Settings

To see the exact words the picker will add, switch the node to the **Prompt** or **Both** display mode. The settings panel shows the same text under **Will inject into prompt**.

## Make a seamless loop

A loop looks seamless when its last frame matches its first frame. Build one in five steps:

### Generate the loop frame

Connect the Loop Subject picker to the **Look** input of a [Generate Image](https://nodaro.ai/docs/nodes/image/generate-image) node, and run it. The image becomes the first and the last frame of the loop.

### Use the image as both frames

Connect the image to both the **Start Frame** and the **End Frame** inputs of a [Generate Video](https://nodaro.ai/docs/nodes/video/generate-video) node. Choose a VEO 3.1 model, such as [VEO 3.1 Fast](https://nodaro.ai/docs/models/video/veo-3-1-fast).

### Add the loop sentence

Add this sentence to the prompt of the Generate Video node:

### Turn on Loop trim

In the settings of Generate Video, turn on **Loop trim**. It cuts the end of the clip at the frame that looks most like the first frame. This removes the dissolve that VEO models can add at the end of a clip. Loop trim adds a small charge to the video. If the trim fails, that charge is refunded and you keep the untrimmed clip.

### Make it longer

Send the clip to a [Loop Video](https://nodaro.ai/docs/nodes/video/loop-video) node to repeat it a number of times or up to a target length. Turn on **Smart cut before looping** so that every repeat joins cleanly.

## What it adds to the prompt

Each subject describes the whole frame, with no foreground subject in front of it. For **Tunnel — Exciting** it adds this text in **Full** mode:

## Tips
- **Choose the tunnel that fits.** **Tunnel — Exciting** is a tunnel of glowing neon ribbons. **Tunnel — Clean** is a tunnel of geometric filaments that repeats into the distance on a dark background.
- **Add an event or a viewpoint.** Use **Custom text (before)**, for example `with lightning flashes`, or **Custom text (after)**, for example `seen from below`.
- **Reuse the frame for several lengths.** One loop frame can feed several Generate Video nodes, for example a 4-second and an 8-second clip.
